Barcelona’s injury woes know no end.

The Catalan club have two more players on the sidelines, with one of those being another defender.

Goal initially reported that defender Andreas Christensen picked up an injury during the UEFA Champions League game against Inter Milan.

Christensen sustained ligament damage in the fixture and will be out of action for an undisclosed period of time.

How many of Barcelona’s defenders are injured?

With Christensen joining the injury list, four Blaugrana defensive options are unavailable. Jules Kounde, Hector Bellerin and Ronald Araujo also face time on the sidelines.

SportsMole then reported that Franck Kessie was also ruled out of action after suffering a thigh problem.

The Ivory Coast international picked up the injury during Barcelona’s training session this morning (October 5). A date has not been provided for his expected return date.

Barcelona have been hit with an injury crisis and the situation appears to be getting worse, Sports Brief reported.

The Blaugrana have already lost Jules Koundé, Ronald Araújo and Ousmane Dembélé to injury during the international break - and now have three more players injured.

As reported by Goal, Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay will be out of action after picking up injuries while on international duty with the Netherlands.

Gerard Piqué could yet redeem himself at FC Barcelona.

The veteran defender has fallen out of favour at the club and has become the subject of recent transfer reports.

Despite only playing two games this season so far, Piqué is expected to have a more prominent role going forward due to Barcelona’s injury crisis.
