Barcelona Caution Brazil Coach Over Raphinha After Having 4 Players Pick Up Injuries on International Duty

Barcelona are worried about the club’s growing injury list during the international break and are already taking steps to curb the list from increasing.

The Catalans have seen numerous players including Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay, Jules Kounde and Ronald Aruajo, who played for their national teams this week, forced to sit out games due to various forms of injuries.

According to SB Nation, Brazil coach Tite has now revealed that Barcelona has been in touch after they expressed their concerns over the use of Raphinha.

“ he Barcelona coaching staff was talking to our physical trainer and they asked us to be careful with Raphinha.
“They lost Araujo and, for that reason, they were worried and they asked us how Raphinha was doing, if he was training well, if there was anything. We told them everything the player was doing here with us.”

Raphinha featured for 80 minutes in Brazil's victory over Ghana in a friendly match on Friday and is anticipated to play again when the Selecao face Tunisia in Paris on Tuesday, September 27.

Barcelona defender suffers discomfort in training

Barcelona’s injury woes have been compounded after it was reported that Hector Bellerin felt discomfort during the club’s training session, Barca Universal reported.

The Catalan giants are however confident that the issue with the former right-back is not serious and expects him to be fit enough for Barcelona’s next game.

Barcelona has had a difficult international break as four players have returned injured, while Ousmane Dembele also experienced calf discomfort while traveling with France.

Ronald Araújo explains decision to undergo surgery

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Ronald Araújo’s participation at this year’s FIFA World Cup remains doubtful after he agreed to undergo surgery for a thigh injury.

Araújo picked up the injury while on international duty with Uruguay.

Araújo was forced off in the first minute of the game against Iran, and it was initially believed that the injury wasn’t too severe.
