Lewandowski’s goals contributed to a 5-1 rout for Barcelona against the Czech champions in their tournament's opening game. Franck Kessie and Ferran Torres also chipped in with goals as Barcelona got their campaign off to winning ways.

Jan Sýkora grabbed Viktoria Plzeň's only goal of the game. Barcelona were good value for money, but Plzeň showed promise. The Czech champions had numerous chances to grab more than the one goal they did and will be disappointed not to have scored more.
