Former Barcelona forward Luis Suarez proved why he is considered as the Clasico king with a wonderful goal for his new club Nacional at the weekend.

The 35-year-old had netted 11 goals for the Catalan giants against eternal rivals Real Madrid in Spain's Clasico before headlining in the Uruguayan version on Sunday.

Suarez scored a long-range stunner to help his new club Nacional thump rivals Penarol 3-1 in Montevideo.

The former Atletico Madrid striker gained possession from a throw-in and allowed the ball run across his body.

With the ball sitting up perfectly on the volley, he unleashed an unstoppable effort left-footed effort from 25 yards that dipped beautifully into the top corner.

Since joining Nacional from Diego Simeone's side in the summer transfer window, the enigmatic striker has recorded three goals and registered one assist in five games.

With barely two months to the start of the 2022 World Cup, Suarez is hoping to keep himself sharp with a solid performance at the very highest level.

Luis Suarez Wishes Darwin Nunez Success at Liverpool With Heartfelt Message

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Luis Suarez has wished his international compatriot Darwin Nunez all the best at Liverpool. Nunez completed a move from Benfica after Liverpool agreed to pay a club-record fee for the striker.

Nunez penned a six-year deal at Anfield and has been tipped for major success by Suarez, who is also a former player of Liverpool.

Liverpool signed Suarez in 2011 from Ajax and he went on to bag 82 goals in 133 appearances, cementing his place as one of the best strikers that the club has ever had. Nunez will be hoping to replicate that stellar form of Suarez.
