FC Barcelona defender Sergiño Dest has officially signed for AC Milan on loan with an option to buy.

The right-back has joined the Rossoneri on transfer deadline day on an initial loan deal from the Catalan side that could become permanent via an option to buy next season.

Dest came through the youth ranks at Ajax in his native Netherlands and made his first-team debut for the Amsterdam side 2019, making 38 appearances for the Eredivisie side and winning a Dutch Supercup.

He has 17 appearances and 3 goals for the USA national team who he chose to represent over his birth country the Netherlands, winning the Concacaf Nations League 2019-20.

"I’m so proud and excited to join the Champions of Italy and such a historic club! Forza Milan," Dest tweeted.

Dest will arrive to provide cover in the right-back role after the injury sustained by Alessandro Florenzi in the midweek draw against Sassuolo.

Sergino Dest Refuses To Leave Barcelona Despite the Blaugrana’s Attempts To Offer Him to Other European Clubs

Barcelona are finding it a lot more difficult to sell their players than it is to buy new players.

The Blaugrana have attempted to part ways with a few of their stars but have encountered resistance from the players themselves.

The defender, who signed from Ajax in 2020, has already been offered to several clubs this transfer window, but refuses to leave, BarcaUniversal reported.

Xavi is happy to let the 21-year-old leave, but Dest has no desire to leave Camp Nou. Dest has been hampered by injuries since joining the Catalan side but is eager to stay and fight for his place.
