  • Barcelona are yet to register Jules Koundé before the start of the second round of fixtures in La Liga
  • Four sides in La Liga face an uphill battle to register their players before the transfer window closes
  • Real Betis have five players injured and have six players that they are yet to register with La Liga

Barcelona’s battles with registering players have been well documented, but they are by no means the only La Liga side to have the problem.

Getafe, Almeria and Real Betis have also failed to register some of their new players.

With the second game week starting from tonight, all four teams will be hoping to sell some of the players to register their new signings.

Barcelona:

Things looked bleak for Barcelona before the start of the new season, but the club have been able to register the majority of their new stars. The only player yet to be registered is Jules Koundé. However, as Barca Universal reported, Koundé has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave as a free agent at the end of the transfer window if he is not registered yet.

Getafe:

Much like Barcelona, Getafe are yet to register just one player so far. Goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, who was at Elche on loan last season, remains the only player who needs to be registered.

Almeria:

Almeria are newly promoted but also face the same challenges as some of the bigger teams. The club are yet to register Leo Baptistao, Fernando Pacheco, and Houboulang Mendes. Almeria were expecting to sell Umar Saqid during the transfer window, thereby earning much-needed funds, but the Nigerian is yet to be sold.

Real Betis:

Football Espana reported that Real Betis are the club struggling the most when it comes to registering new players. Joaquin, Andres Guardado and Claudio Bravo, Willian Jos, Luiz Henrique and Luiz Felipe are all yet to be registered with La Liga.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side also have five players injured and could be without as many as 11 players for the second round of fixtures.

Jules Kounde to walk away from Barcelona contract if La Liga club fails to register French defender

Jules Kounde could end up leaving Barcelona without making a competitive appearance for the Catalan club as Barcelona are still to register the French defender for the new campaign.

Barcelona reached an agreement with Sevilla to sign Kounde this summer after a fee of €55 million was paid, with the defender penning a contract at Camp Nou until 2027.

Blaugrana will, however, lose the services of Kounde as a clause in the player’s contract has revealed he can leave for free if the club fails to register him before the end of the transfer window.
