Blaugrana are in desperate financial trouble and selling De Jong whom the club owes £17million in deferred wages would ease some of that financial pressure.

Former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu gave Frenkie De Jong a significant two-year extension and the midfielder is expected to make €20 million net this season and up to €25 million the following campaign if delayed salaries are taken into account.

Barcelona preparing offer for Bernardo Silva

Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva could be on his way to Camp Nou as Barcelona are believed to be preparing an offer for the Manchester City player Barca Universal reports.

The Portuguese is excited about the move and is already reported to be looking for a new house in Barcelona with the help of the same agency that aided Jules Kounde with his search.

Bernardo will probably cost Barcelona upwards of €80 million, which might be offset by the sale of Frenkie de Jong, whose asking price is estimated at €85 million.

Barcelona accused of falsely inflating their finances

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Barcelona could be in for another scandal following the club’s recent bid to generate more funds to register the club’s new players which had made them activate some economic levers.

The Catalans have sold 25% of their TV rights to an American company, Sixth Street, and disclosed the deal had generated a whooping €667m as income.

Barcelona has now been accused of falsely inflating their accounts using their own money as the US company reported an outlay of €517m.
