Barcelona’s financial troubles is still haunting the Spanish club as they have been blocked by La Liga from registering the club’s new signings.

Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Kounde, Frank Kessie, and Andreas Christensen have all joined the Catalan giants this summer as Barcelona tries to rebuild ahead of the 2022/23 season.

La Liga has informed Barcelona that their five new signings this summer still cannot be registered for the new season as the club does not meet financial requirements SB Nation reports.

Barcelona administrators have been meeting regularly with La Liga to examine the issue for weeks, and president Joan Laporta has continuously affirmed that they have taken the required steps to make room for the new signings.

Blaugrana will begin their league season on August 13 when they square up against Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou and the club fans are hopeful all new signings will have been registered before then.

Ferran Torres gets a new shirt number at Barcelona

Meanwhile, Barcelona are doing a major reshuffling of their squad numbers ahead of the 2022/23 football season and one of those affected his Spanish winger, Ferran Torres.

The Spanish giants have handed Torres the number 11 kit which was previously worn by Adama Traore who left the club after his loan spell from Wolves expired this summer Barca Universal reports.

Lewandowski to get famous jersey number 9 at Barcelona

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Robert Lewandowski will get his preferred number 9 jersey when he is presented as a Barcelona player to the club’s supporters at Camp Nou.

The Poland striker penned a 3-year deal with the Catalan giants after ending his 8-year relationship with the Bundesliga champions and has featured in preseason games already for Barcelona.

Barcelona has decided to hand over Memphis Depay’s jersey number to Lewandowski as the Dutch forward has been asked to leave the club.
