If the deal goes through, Alexander-Arnold will join the likes of Luis Suarez, Javier Mascherano, and Phillipe Coutinho, who has swapped playing at Anfield for the La Liga giants.

Alexander-Arnold, who's considered one of the best right-backs in the world, is still contracted to Liverpool until 2025, but Barcelona would fancy chasing a deal for the England right-back next summer.

Chelsea will submit Frenkie de Jong bid after convincing the player

Meanwhile, Barcelona could finally get their wish of selling of one of their most valuable asset in Frenkie de Jong to raise funds for the cash-strapped Spanish giants.

According to Barca Universal, Chelsea has begun negotiations with Barcelona for De Jong and they will make a formal bid only after they receive the go-ahead from the player.

Barcelona has no problem in parting ways with the Dutch midfielder as his departure would open many doors for the club who will be receiving in excess of €70 million for the former Ajax star.

Barcelona sends stern message to Umtiti and Braithwaite

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Martin Braithwaite and Samuel Umtiti could be in for hard times at the La Liga giants if they refused to leave the club before the start of the 2022/23 season.

The Catalan giants have been eager to offload both players and have informed both Braithwaite and Umtiti that they will not be getting squad numbers ahead of the new season.

Barcelona has also told the pair they will both be sacked if they are adamant to leave and still remain at the club by 31st August.
