  • Pique made a quiet trip to London on Saturday alongside his two children
  • Together, the three watched as tennis star Rafael Nadal trained before pre-tournament media duties
  • The Barcelona star is currently in the midst of a separation with his partner of 11 years Shakira

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique took some time away from the drama surrounding his love life as he went to watch Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon.

Photos that are doing rounds on social media on Saturday, June 25 showed Pique in the company of his two sons Milian and Sascha.

Together, the three were on hand to watch Nadal as he practiced at the All England Club.

Reports from Marca also suggest Pique visited Stamford Bridge, where he purchased Chelsea shirts for his two sons.

Pique was keen not to be on the spotlight during his time in England, as he passed as just a regular fan recording Nadal during practice.

Afterwards, he afforded a short conversation with the tennis star.

From a business perspective, it was important for Pique to watch Nadal as the Barcelona star is the president of Kosmos that owns the rights to the Davis Cup (the tennis equivalent of the World Cup).

Pique-Shakira woes

It was interesting to see Pique with his two sons as his visit to Wimbledon came amid rumours that he declined his ex partner Shakira’s attempts to have the children travel to the US.

Televisión Española's journalist Laura Fa, quoted on Marca, reported that Shakira wanted the ex-couple’s children, who are on school break, to spend two months in Florida, but Pique was not in agreement.

The pair recently announced their separation on social media, amid claims that Pique cheated on the Waka Waka hitmaker.

Suffering Pique

Last week, Barcelona president passionately defended Gerard Pique amid the player’s personal woes.

Laporta backed the player as he shed light on his current situation.

"Pique is suffering. As much as we imagine, we have in our imagination players with fame, money and everything we like, but they are people and Pique is a great person. Laporta said.
