Spanish giants Barcelona have announced the signing of 19-year-old Pablo Torre who had been in top form for Real Racing Club de Santander.

The youngster arrived in Catalonia following a successful season with his hometown club having inspired them to gain promotion to LaLiga SmartBank for next season.

Torre signed his mouthwatering contract in the presence of club president Joan Laporta, vice-president for sport Rafael Yuste and director of football Mateu Alemany, Barcelona said in a statement.

It was gathered that the president of Barça B Jordi Casals, the director responsible for youth football Joan Soler and the director of youth football José Ramon Alexanko were also present.

The player’s agent Auturo Canales and a number of his family members, as well as his parents, were all there to witness his special moment.

Speaking to the club's media, Torre spoke about how "happy and delighted" he is to have joined the Barça family.

"Iniesta and Xavi were my boyhood heroes. I promise to give everything for this team.

“It's not easy to leave the club of your life, the club that is and will be my life. Real Racing Club de Santander is and will be my home, a home that is part of the history of my family, and I have had the honour of being part of it."

Barcelona also confirmed that they will pay € 5 million fee to Racing Santander plus add ons up to €20m potential package as the deal runs until June 2026, release clause included for €100m.
