Sergio Aguero was officially unveiled as a Barcelona player on Monday, May 31 as the Catalan club completed the free signing of the Argentine from Manchester City.
Aguero, 32, ended his 10-year stay at Manchester City in a period where he became the club’s all-time goalscorer with 260 goals in 390 games.
His final appearance for Manchester City was off the bench in the heartbreaking Champions League final defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, May 29.
Days after the Champions League defeat, Aguero seemed to have put his past disappointment behind him as he was unveiled by Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
In photos accessed by TUKO.co.ke, the Argentine is all smiles as he is presented with the Barcelona shirt in front of the cameras.
TUKO.co.ke has since learnt the Argentine has signed a two-year deal with the Catalan club.
“The best club in the world”.
Aguero spoke on Barcelona during his unveiling where he explained his move to Spain after a trophy-filled spell with Manchester City.
Aguero, who is set to pair up with countryman and long-time friend Lionel Messi, boldly declared Barcelona as the best club in the world.
"We all know that Barcelona are the best club in the world," said Aguero.
"I think I made a great decision to be here and of course it is a step forward in my career.
"I am really happy and hopefully I can help the team to win things."
Despite signing for Barcelona for free, the Argentine will have a buyout clause of 100m euros (£86m/ KSh 13.1 billion) at the club.
Another Manchester City star, Eric Garcia, is set to seal a move to Barcelona.
The 20-year-old will have a staggering £343 million inserted in his contract by the Catalan club to prevent other suitors from luring him away..
The Barcelona academy graduate made 12 Premier League appearances for Pep Guardiola's side, while he started just three of those games on their way to glory in the recently concluded season.
