"For this country to be where it is, it was because of the local coaches – I will tell you that much. Qualifying for the World Cup was thanks to local coaches; reaching the Afcon finals and semi-finals was because of local coaches,” he said.
"The first coach to qualify this country for the Olympics was a local coach, the U23, U17, and all the junior national teams did well under local coaches and then you come and disrespect us like that?”

Khumalo added that he never played in Europe but was at the World Cup and won AFCON with Bafana. His comment was in reference to Broos saying that Bafana couldn’t compete globally because they didn’t have enough talented players in Europe.

"You lose a game and then you start talking negatively about everyone instead of just looking at yourself. There is a lot of talent in this country and if a local coach was to be given a chance, he’d polish our diamonds and make them better,” Khumalo added.

Jerry Sikhosana has also previously called on Hugo Boos to be replaced by Pitso Mosimane. CAF President Patrice Motsepe even said that he would subsidise Pitso's wages so he could become Bafana coach, Sunday World reported.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe expresses admiration for Pitso Mosimane, and wishes he was Bafana Bafana coach

Dr Patrice Motsepe is a big fan of Pitso Mosimane. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) president was Mosimane’s employer when the former Al Ahly coach managed Mamelodi Sundowns.

Their relationship has been reportedly strained ever since Mosimane left the Brazilians to coach the Egyptian giants.

However, while addressing a South African National Editors’ Forum function (SANEF) Motsepe admitted that he wished Mosimane could coach Bafana Bafana.

Orlando Pirates legend Jerry Sikhosana wants Hugo Broos to be replaced with Pitso Mosimane as Bafana coach

Jerry Sikhosana is weighing in on the South African national team and coach Hugo Broos.

Legs of Thunder has called for Broos to be replaced as Bafana Bafana coach amid the loss to Morocco and his recent comments regarding the state of football in South Africa.

Broos commented that South Africa lacked quality players to compete on a global stage and that the level of the Premier Soccer League wasn’t very high.
