Hugo Broos has officially named his 23-man squad to take on Guinea and France and there has been much talk about who has been selected and who has been left out.

Petersen has been in tremendous form for Kaizer Chiefs and has found himself as the Amakhosi’s number one choice goalkeeper.

Victor Letsoalo has scored 11 goals this season for Royal AM and is second on the goalscoring charts for the season, four goals behind Peter Shalulile, SuperSport.com confirmed.

Bafana coach Hugo Broos has since explained why he didn’t select Letsoalo for the final squad. As reported by KickOff, Broos explained that Letsoalo wasn’t at his best currently, with the Bafana coach adding that he knows what the player is capable of.

"He is not playing at the moment in his team so that means he is not in his best shape. I saw the last games, he is not Victor Letsoalo, the one before Christmas,” Broos explained.

The Bafana coach added that with the upcoming games being friendlies, he wanted to experiment with the squad as well and give new faces a chance to see what they can do.

Fans have since had their say on social media, debating on whether it was the right choice to drop Letsoalo.

@Arthursphere:

"Victor Letsoalo was robbed of his place for Makgopa"

@JerryMapatu:

"I disagree with his selection, Mvala didn't have match games time with Sundowns how come he made it to the national squad? Ethan Brooks also, his form has dropped, the 2 local top goalscorers are not in the squad Victor Letsoalo of Royal AM (11) & Ndlolo (7) of Gallants are not in"

@lunga_Mgcina:

"It would've made sense if he replaced Bvuma for Brandon Petersen and Evidence Makgopa for Victor Letsoalo."

Hugo Broos names Bafana squad ahead of friendlies, Brandon Petersen and Victor Letsoalo among those left out

Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, has officially named his 23-man squad that will take on Guinea and France in two upcoming friendly matches.

Bafana will take on Guinea on 25 March in Belgium, before taking on World Champions, France, in France on 29 March.

As reported by Soccer Laduma, Broos originally named a provisional squad for the friendlies, a squad that featured four overseas players and numerous debutants. Broos has since whittled that squad down to the final 23 that will compete in the friendlies.
