Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni and his girlfriend Suzette Carter made a joint appearance at the semifinals of the 2026 Madrid Open tennis tournament on 1 May, presenting a united front weeks after a fabricated social media post falsely attributed to the France international went viral.

The 26-year-old Tchouaméni was dressed in a white textured short-sleeved polo shirt and matching white trousers, completing his look with dark sunglasses and a silver watch. Carter, 28, wore a light blue sleeveless dress with lace detailing and a fitted bodice, accessorised with dark rectangular sunglasses and a bracelet, her long dark hair worn straight.

Photographs from the event show Carter standing close to Tchouaméni with her arm around his lower back, while the midfielder stood composed with one hand in his pocket, his attention periodically directed toward the on-court action. The couple, who went public with their relationship around May 2025, appeared at ease throughout the occasion.

The outing follows a widely circulated hoax in March that originated from a fabricated screenshot falsely attributed to Tchouaméni. The fake post claimed he had accused Carter of infidelity despite allegedly providing her with a £25,000 weekly allowance and a house in Spain. The screenshot spread rapidly across social media platforms before the player moved to address it directly.

Tchouaméni responded by sharing the fraudulent post on his own social media accounts alongside the message: “That’s not my account. Take care.” Carter also issued her own public response amid the heightened scrutiny the pair faced at the time. Carter has regularly attended Tchouaméni’s matches since the relationship became public, and the Madrid Open attendance marks a continuation of that pattern in a non-football setting.

On the pitch, Tchouaméni has been one of Real Madrid’s most consistent performers this season. The defensive midfielder is currently leading the squad with a 93% pass completion rate across both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League — a figure that underlines his importance to Carlo Ancelotti’s setup. Across 44 appearances in all competitions this season, he has also contributed 2 goals and 2 assists, demonstrating his capacity to influence matches at both ends of the pitch.

Tchouaméni joined Real Madrid from Monaco in the summer of 2022 in a deal worth a reported €80 million, and has since developed into a key figure in the club’s midfield. Now 26, he is widely regarded as a long-term cornerstone of both the Real Madrid and France national team setups. His continued presence at the club comes amid a broader generational transition at the Bernabéu following the departures of midfield stalwarts Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić in recent seasons.

The 2026 Madrid Open, held at the Caja Mágica in the Spanish capital, is one of the premier clay-court events on the ATP and WTA calendars, classified as an ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 tournament. The event has in recent years become a social fixture for prominent sporting figures based in Madrid.
