Meanwhile, Griezmann scored a brilliant late goal to claim a battling 1-0 win against Athletic Bilbao at the Wanda Metropolitano on February 19, Sportstar reports.

It was only their fifth home victory in a difficult season that saw them eliminated from the UCL in the group stage and the Copa del Rey in the quarter-finals.

Griezmann's goal was his 14th in 30 games against Bilbao, the most the French forward has scored against any team in his professional career.

Sports Brief also reported on Griezmann being one of France's most important players, since making his debut for Les Bleus in February 2014.

The Atletico Madrid forward has come in handy in several positions for France, including leading striker, attacking midfielder, winger, and central midfielder.

Griezmann currently occupies the midfield with Aurelien Tchouameni and Adrien Rabiot, in absence of the injured Paul Pogba and Ngolo Kanté.
