The tension between Thibaut Courtois and Atletico Madrid has hit new heights after the La Liga club wrote a warning to the Real Madrid goalkeeper to change his behaviour.

Courtois has been at loggerheads with his former club following several altercations with Atletico Madrid supporters since he joined local rivals Real Madrid.

According to Sportskeeda, Atletico Madrid have now threatened to remove the plaque dedicated to Real Madrid goalkeeper at the Wanda Metropolitano if his behaviour does not change.

Courtois spent three seasons with Atletico Madrid, where he won the European Super Cup, the Europa League, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish league.

Courtois heroics help Real Madrid beat Valencia

Meanwhile, Thibaut Courtois was the hero for Real Madrid as they beat Valencia 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Riyadh to reach the Spanish Super Cup final, Vanguard reports.

The Belgian goalkeeper denied Jose Gaya from the spot during the penalty shootouts to help Real Madrid secure a spot in the Spanish Super Cup final.

The reigning Super Cup champions will go on to play Barcelona in the final after the Catalan giants booked their spot following another penalty shootout victory against Real Betis.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has slammed the Ballon d'Or voting process, claiming that it is impossible for a goalkeeper to win the coveted prize.
