  • Atletico Madrid forward João Félix headed straight down the tunnel after he was subbed off during his side's home loss to Real Madrid
  • The 22-year-old forward chose to walk down the tunnel instead of sitting on the substitutes bench after he was taken off by Diego Simeone
  • Felix had a sub-par performance for the Rojiblancos to lose the bragging rights in the Madrid derby to their close-door neighbours, Real Madrid

João Félix was spotted heading straight down the tunnel following his substitution in Sunday's Madrid derby at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Felix's Atletico Madrid stumbled to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of city rivals Real Madrid in a keenly-contested affair.

Prior to the weekend's top-liner, the narrative centred around Vinicius Junior's samba-styled goal celebrations with Atletico skipper Koke sending a warning signal to the Brazilian to avoid dancing if he scores.

Vinicius, however, did not score but did not prevent him from joining his teammate and Brazilian compatriot, Rodrygo, in executing the dance celebrations after the latter drew first blood for Madrid.

Madrid will capitalize on Rodrygo's goal as Valverde doubled the lead to grab the bragging rights against their 'noisy neighbours.'

Aside from the focus on Vinicius' celebrations, another youngster, João Félix - on the other side of the divide - stole the headlines for the wrong reasons.

The 22-year-old Portugal international, who started up front alongside Griezmann for the home side, stormed to the dressing room after his substitution.

A visibly disappointed Felix, who was a 63rd-minute substitution, opted to head straight down the tunnel instead of joining his teammates on the bench after his substitution.

It is unknown what informed the one-time Golden Boy award winner to head down the tunnel but he eventually returned to join his teammates five minutes later.

Rodrygo and Valverde score as Real down Atletico in Madrid derby

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Vinícius Júnior said he would dance, and dance he did.

The Real Madrid forward didn’t score in the first half against Atletico Madrid but still got to dance when fellow Brazilian Rodrygo scored.

Rodrygo opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he latched onto a beautifully chipped balled over the defence from Aurélien Tchouaméni.
