The Gunners have enjoyed a fine run of results since the start of September and are yet to taste defeat across competitions.

Mikel Arteta's charges secured a vital 1-0 win over struggling Watford in their last outing, with the result firing them to fifth on the log with 20 points.

Arsenal kicked off their campaign on a frustrating note as they suffered three consecutive defeats in their opening fixtures.

However, the Emirates outfit have since turned around their fortunes and racked up an impressive 20 points to leapfrog Man United on the standings.

So incredible they have been that there are just two points separating them and fourth-placed Liverpool who have widely been backed to challenge for the title.

The north Londoners' turn of form has sparked suggestions the side could find themselves in the mix for the title race.

But according to Ambani, Arteta's men must strive to beat the top teams if they are to be considered serious contenders for the domestic title.

"Arsenal real tests is when playing top teams. That is the only time you can gauge them. Winning against lesser teams does not win you titles," Ambani told TUKO.co.ke

However, he was quick to insist the title race is still open with 11 matches already played.

"The league is still on. Let's watch," he added.

How the EPL table looks

Meanwhile, Chelsea remain top on the Premier League standings with a three-point cushion over second-placed Man City.

TUKO.co.ke reported the Blues were unable to take control of the race after settling for a frustrating 1-1 draw against Burnley at the weekend.

West Ham United complete the top three podium following their 3-2 thrilling win over Liverpool who subsequently dropped to fourth.
