English FA Cup champions Arsenal are reportedly plotting a £25 million move for Ajax attacker Quincy Promes this summer.

The Dutch forward is on the wishlist of the North Londoners after some impressive displays for the Eredivisie side last campaign.

He recorded 16 goals and five assists in 28 appearances before coronavirus forced the league to be abandoned in March.

Apart from Arsenal, SunSport reports that Liverpool at some point seriously chased the winger but the Gunners appear more serious after their boss Mikel Arteta already reached out to him.

Promes joined Ajax from Spanish League side Sevilla for a fee of around £14m in the summer of 2019 and became an instant hit for the club.

The Dutchman was signed as a replacement for Barcelona-bound Frenkie de Jong which made him the club’s third most expensive player of all-time. Ajax boss Erik ten Hag also coached him at Go Ahead Eagles and would be willing to sell.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Arsenal are interested in the signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey so as to bolster their squad for next season in all competitions.

Since the day the Gunners defeated Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup at Wembley, Mikel Arteta who is the manager has been planning to bring more legs to the Emirates.
