Free-agent Dani Alves is ready to complete a switch to Arsenal after leaving Paris Saint-Germain last month.

According to a UK Sun report, Alves will however not go below £200k-a-week salary, which will likely stall the possibility of the deal going through.

The 36-year-old Brazilian international is unattached at the moment.

Last season, he earned £230k-a-week at PSG before snubbing a one-year extension in June, insisting on two-year deal.

And after failing to qualify for Champions League football last campaign, Arsenal have reduced their wage bill this summer, with departures like Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech, Danny Welbeck, Stephan Lichtsteiner and David Ospina reportedly saving the North London dwellers about £410,000-per-week.

At the moment, Arsenal appear not ready to increase their wage bill, but Alves who helped Emery win his first title at PSG, re-echoed his desire to play in the English topflight last year.

The idea that I might finish my career without going to the Premier League, it is not possible," he said.
“For sure, this is the most amazing football in the world. First, because of the respect for the players from the fans, and then because of the passion on the pitch.
“If I can play, that would be perfect, but I will make it there one way or the other," he submitted.
