The north London side are yet to lift the domestic crown for nearly 16 years now, with their last coming during the 2003/04 season under then manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal currently occupy 14th place on the standings with 13 points from nine matches under the tutelage of Arteta.

Last season, the Spanish tactician led Arsenal to an eighth place finish and is now looking to return the club to the Champions League with a top four finish.

The Emirates outfit strengthened this summer with a number of signings, including Thomas Partey who arrived from Atletico Madrid in a £45 million deal.

But Arteta believes his side needs to strengthen further before being regarded as title favourites.

"That [will] take a few windows at least to do that," the ex-midfielder told Sky Sports when asked how far away Arsenal are from challenging for the Premier League title.

"To establish yourself to compete at the level of certain clubs in this league, which is nearly 100 points, it takes time. ‘In football, time is very precious and people are very impatient," he added.

Arsenal are scheduled to take on Wolves later on Sunday evening, November 29, with victory enough to catapult them to sixth on the charts.
