Pep Guardiola's charges suffered a 2-1 shock loss to Brentford on Saturday, November 12, to suffer a massive blow in their hopes of defending the EPL title successfully.

The defeat left them in second place with 32 points as Arsenal took full advantage of their slip-up to see off Wolves to open a five-point lead at the top.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United continued their impressive run against Chelsea, securing a 1-0 win over the Blues at home to climb to third on the log with 30 points.

Tottenham Hotspur complete the top four slots with 29 points, three points above fifth-placed Man United, who sunk a stubborn Fulham side on Sunday, November 13, at Craven Cottage.

Nottingham Forest, Southampton, and Wolves are the three sides occupying the relegation spots, with the latter sitting bottom after the defeat to the Gunners.
