The November 6 London derby showdown between Chelsea and Arsenal is finely poised, after Mikel Arteta and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang traded subtle jabs.

The Gabonese faces Arsenal this weekend, the first time the Blues striker has come up against his former club since leaving acrimoniously in January.

Aubameyang was filmed bashing Arteta after joining Barcelona, in a leaked video which drew furious reactions from Arsenal fans and a subdued response from Arteta, according to Talksport.

Arteta responds to Aubameyang

The Arsenal manager has hit back at Aubameyang following his declarations. He said he expects that from any player.

"You expect players to do that. If you ask any of our players how they feel about where they are, they will say the same," according to Football London.

Arteta still lavished praise on Aubameyang's goal scoring abilities.

"Very dangerous. If Auba has something, it’s the ability to put the ball in the back of the net and he’s going to be doing that until the day that he decides he’s had enough of football."

Chelsea welcome Arsenal this Sunday in the Premier League, in an important game for both sides.

Arsenal fans blast Aubameyang

Sports Brief earlier reported on Arsenal fans reacting angrily to Aubameyang's comments ahead of their meeting this Sunday.

His message has left many Arsenal fans angry, with a section of them taking to social media to hit out at the Chelsea ace.

The striker appeared on a promo video by BT Sport ahead of Chelsea's meeting with Arsenal, with the Gabonese declaring he is 'back, blue and ready.'
