  • With the scores still 1-1, Sead Kolasinac was presented with a glorious chance to earn Marseille a winner

Arsenal fans have savagely slammed former Gunners defender Sead Klplasinac for failing to knock Tottenham Hotspur out of the Champions League.

Marseille opened the scoring through Chancel Mbemba Mangulu, who headed home the opener just before the break, with Clement Lenglet restoring parity shortly after the interval.

Ex-Arsenal defender Kolasinac had a great opportunity to put his side back in front with three minutes left on the clock, only for the Bosnian to fluff his lines in front of the goal as he headed wide.

Spurs went on to take the lead at stoppage time through Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, as the Premier League giants stormed to the knockouts.

Kolasinac slammed by Gunners fans

However, Kolasinac's miss became a major talking point, with Arsenal fans openly criticising him for failing to help dump out their bitter rivals from the Champions League.

One Arsenal fan wrote:

"Kolasinac could’ve won the match there. That’s a brutal miss."

A second tweeted:

"Kolasinac has blood on his hands for this but fair enough."

Another added:

"How is Kolasinac still torturing Arsenal fans years after leaving man."

A fourth fan commented:

"As if Kolasinac was gifted the golden chance to knock Spurs out of the CL and failed... miserably."

Tottenham players rocked by fireworks

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on how Tottenham players were subjected to a sleepless night on Tuesday by unruly Marseille fans.

Cheeky Marseille fans reportedly targeted the luxury hotel where the Tottenham players and manager Antonio Conte were residing, ahead of their Champions League game.

On the night of Monday, October 31, hundreds of partygoers took to the streets to celebrate Halloween, but some fans decided it was the perfect opportunity to shake up the Tottenham team.
