This weekend saw Premier League action resume after a short hiatus occasioned by the passing of Queen Elizabeth.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Man City are some of the top teams who were in action, with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man United having their fixtures pushed.

The Gunners, City, and Spurs were perhaps the biggest gainers from the teams that were in action, with the three sides currently neck-to-neck.

City, who were scheduled to play Tottenham in matchweek seven, were in action against Wolves on Saturday, September 17, with the reigning English champions winning the tie 3-0 to momentarily go top on the standings with 17 points.

On their part, Spurs hammered struggling Leicester City 6-2 at home to keep pace with City and the Gunners.

Arsenal reclaims the top spot on the standings

Having dropped to third on Saturday after wins for Spurs and City, Arsenal took to the pitch on Sunday, September 18, to battle Brentford.

The north Londoners showed no sign of rust as they stunned the Bees 3-0 at the Community Stadium.

Goals from William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus, and Patrick Vieira were enough to secure a convincing win for the Gunners.

The win was enough to help Arsenal reclaim their place on top of the charts with 18 points, with City compelled to drop to second.

Spurs, meanwhile, are third with 17 points, five points ahead of fifth-placed Man United, who have a game in hand.

Elsewhere, Leicester remain bottom of the log with just a point, with Nottingham Forest and West Ham the other two sides in the relegation zone.
