However, the fixture will not go ahead as earlier planned, with the death of Queen Elizabeth II plunging preparations for the match into limbo.

The development was confirmed on Monday, with UEFA announcing that the fixture would be postponed due to ‘severe limitations on police resources’ in London ahead of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

‘The UEFA Europa League tie between Arsenal FC and PSV Eindhoven has been postponed with a new date to be communicated in due course," a UEFA statement said.
‘This is due to the severe limitations on police resources and organisational issues related to the ongoing events surrounding the national mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II," the statement added.

According to Metro UK, the same fate could meet other top-level matches scheduled to be played over the weekend.

Chelsea are billed to be in action against Liverpool at London's Stamford Bridge, while Brentford are set to host Arsenal in another London match.
