The match comes at a time both teams are enjoying a fine run of form, with Arsenal securing five consecutive top-flight wins.

On the other hand, United had a frustrating start to the campaign but have since got their season back on track after winning their last three fixtures.

Paul Merson makes prediction for Man United vs Arsenal

Merson, a former Arsenal player, has shared his views on how he thinks things will pan out at Old Trafford.

According to the former England international, given the stakes in this match, the two English giants will likely settle for a draw.

Merson contends both sides will be keen to build on their current momentum as the new season takes shape.

"If Man United win this game, they’re into the Premier League top four. Four wins on the trot and everybody goes, 'Wow! Look at them!'' " Merson told Sportskeeda.

"I’d be quite shocked if Arsenal won this game. They might have to play without their two best footballers – Odegaard and Zinchenko.
"Arsenal can’t afford to lose, and they don’t need to win this game right now – a draw should suffice, and that’s what I’m going for, 1-1," he added.
