Henry has since confirmed the development, with the legendary forward expressing his delight with the latest adventure.

According to the former Barcelona star, he has always been on the lookout for 'a project like Como.'

"I have been waiting to get involved in a project like Como for a long time. A club with ambition but most importantly, one that holds the same values as me - that the club and its local community both need to thrive," the Daily Mail quoted Henry saying.

The move will see Henry link up with former Arsenal teammate Cesc Fabregas, who is also a part-owner of the Serie D club.

Former Chelsea icon Dennis Wise is the other former Premier League star part of the Como hierarchy at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

Cesc Fabregas joins little-know Italian club

Earlier, Sports Brief reported former Premier League and La Liga midfielder Cesc Fabregas has reached a deal to join Italian Serie B side Como this summer.

The former Arsenal captain was rendered clubless after his contract with Monaco expired at the end of last season.

Fabregas was forced to quit the French club after his struggles at the club last season, which saw him limited to just five appearances.

Former Chelsea star Dennis Wise is currently at the helm of Como, serving as the club's chairman and head of sports operations.
