Arsenal and reigning champions, Manchester City, are the only two sides yet to drop points this term, with the former hoping to keep pace as the season progresses.

Mikel Arteta's charges kicked off the campaign with a 2-0 win over London rivals, Crystal Palace, before demolishing Leicester City 4-2 on Saturday in their second fixture.

Patrick Vieira backs Arsenal to challenge for the EPL title

Speaking after Palace's 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Monday night, August 15, Vieira noted that he was happy with the performance of his team, having already played two teams who are Premier League title challengers.

"When you look at the number of points, of course playing against two teams who are fighting to win the Premier League, is always going to be challenging," Vieira explained via The Mirror.

The Eagles were in fine shape during their trip to Anfield as they managed to pick a point against the Reds.

Wilfried Zaha scored the opener for Palace in the first half, before Luis Diaz restored parity in the 61st minute, shortly after Darwin Nunez had been red-carded.

Gabriel Jesus delights Arsenal fans with awesome first Premier League goal

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus opened his goal-scoring account for Arsenal in the Premier League with a peach of a goal in Arsenal's home game against Leicester City.

The 25-year-old forward ended his five-trophy-laden years with Manchester City when he completed a switch to Arsenal this summer and has since not looked back.

Jesus, who was in explosive form during pre-season - scoring seven goals in five games - did not get off the mark on his Premier League debut for the Gunners against Crystal Palace but it was only a matter of when and not how he will break his goalscoring duck.
