Marco Asensio is now ready to take a pay cut to move away from Real Madrid this summer. Asensio wants to move elsewhere, where he will have significant playing time as he hopes to make it to Luis Enrique's World Cup squad.

He was been used sparingly by Real Madrid's head coach Carlo Ancelotti last season, with Rodrygo Goes and Federico Valverde preferred instead.

Football London now reports that the winger has made the decision to reduce his wages to attract suitors. The report further states that Arsenal could look into the possibility of signing the Spanish international.

Mikel Arteta is still recovering from missing out on top target Raphinha. The Leeds United winger is set to join either Chelsea or Barcelona, who have better bids than Arsenal. Arteta now views Asensio as a perfect plan B.

Asensio's possible arrival could provide competition for Bukayo Saka, who has been in dazzling form since making his debut.

Arsenal have so far completed the signings of Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Gabriel Jesus as they prepare to compete in Europe in the upcoming season.

Asensio has one year left on his current contract with the Los Blancos.

Gabriel Jesus lays down plans after sealing Arsenal transfer

Sports Brief had earlier reported that new Arsenal signing Gabriel Jesus had declared his ambitions for the forthcoming season following his transfer to the north London club.

The 25-year-old forward stated in no uncertain terms of achieving laurels with the Gunners as he laid down his objectives for joining Arsenal.

Jesus lifted the Premier League title four times while he was with Man City, while also clinching three League Cup winners medals during his time at the Etihad, as well as one FA Cup, and the Brazilian is still hungry for more.
