  • The London side is still looking for midfielders after signing Fabio Vieira and Rabiot presents a perfect opportunity for the club
  • Bellerin has made it clear that he doesn't want to continue at Arsenal but his preferred club Real Betis don't have the funds to sign him

Arsenal are looking into the prospect of signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot. Mikel Arteta is looking to beef his squad ahead of the increased number of matches next season.

The Gunners have already secured the services of Fabio Vieira from Porto and are looking to add another midfielder. Leicester City's Youri Tielemans has been mentioned alongside Rabiot.

Calcio Mercato Web reports that Juventus are interested in Bellerin and Arsenal want to take advantage of that fact by insisting on having Rabiot.

Bellerin personally has maintained that he would love to return to Real Betis. He recorded 32 appearances for the Manuel Pellegrini's side and played a huge role as they the Copa Del Rey.

Real Betis however are not in a financial position to sign him unless they sell a few players first. Rabiot, on the other hand, is entering the final year of his Juve contract and the Old Lady might be tempted to sell him now.

The Daily Express reports that Manchester United are also interested in Rabiot but Arsenal expect that adding Bellerin will help them beat their rivals to the deal.

Rabiot has an impressive CV having won six Ligue One titles with Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Italy where he has since won the Scudetto. Arteta could deploy him and Thomas Partey in his midfield to tap into his ball retention and passing skills.

Mikel Arteta reacts after club completes Fabio Vieira signing

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had expressed his delight after the club completed the signing of FC Porto star Fabio Vieira.

The Gunners are understood to have landed the signature of Vieira in an initial fee of €35m (£30m) in addition to €5m (£4.3m) worth of add-ons.

The Porto star is the north London club’s third new signing of the summer after the arrivals of goalkeeper Matt Turner and teenage winger Marquinhos.
