Arteta is looking to reinforce his attack line following Pierre-Emerick Aunameyang's departure to Barcelona in January.

Arsenal are also on the verge of losing two more strikers at the end of the season, with Eddie Nketiah and Alexander Lacazette tipped to exit.

This has forced the north Londoners to enter the market in search of a new and prolific striker to lead the goal hunt.

Man City want £40million for Gabriel Jesus

Arteta is believed to have shortlisted Jesus as his No.1 target for the striker role, with Metro UK claiming Arsenal are willing to spend heavily on the position.

Mirror UK now reports City want around £40m for Jesus as they are keen to recoup some significant amount from the sale of the Brazil international.

Part of the money raised from Jesus' transfer is expected to fund the signing of Borussia Dortmund hotshot, Erling Haaland.

City themselves are in need of a striker and have identified Haaland as a key priority.

On his part, Jesus is said to be more than willing to move to the Emirates - but only if the Gunners secure Champions League football.

Arteta's men are on the verge of making a return to Europe's elite football competition as they currently occupy fourth place on the standings.

Rangnick discloses Ronaldo is not leaving Man United

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has broken silence on the future of Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.

According to the tactician, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will remain at the club beyond this season.

Ronaldo, who has a year left on his current deal at the club has widely been linked with a summer exit.
