The Premier League season is hotting up as teams battle to end the 2021/22 campaign on a high.

Man City and Liverpool are still leading the chase for the Premier League crown, with just a point separating the two English heavyweights.

City are topping the log with 80 points following their 5-1 huge win over Watford on Saturday, April 23, while Liverpool are occupying second place after seeing off Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Chelsea complete the top three podium with 65 points after edging a stubborn West Ham United side 1-0 on Sunday, April 24.

Arsenal, Tottenham lead hunt for the top-four

With just a few matches left to end the season, London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are emerging as the firm favourites to secure a top-four finish.

The Gunners took a huge leap towards that feat after they demolished Man United 3-1 at the Emirates, with Spurs stumbling after they were held to a goalless draw against Brentford.

Mikel Arteta's charges are occupying fourth place on the log with 60 points, two ahead of Spurs who sit fifth.

United are sixth with 54 points after 34 rounds of matches, while West Ham's defeat to Chelsea has them rooted in seventh.

Everton staring relegation

Meanwhile, Everton's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool saw them drop to 18th on the standings with 29 points, with Burnley's 1-0 hard-fought win over Wolves sending them out of relegation.

Watford and Norwich City are the other two sides battling to secure their top-flight status this season.

Norwich remain bottom of the log with just 22 points and face the prospect of dropping to the Championship.
