  • Arsenal continued to gather momentum in their Champions League chase after earning a hard-fought victory over Brentford
  • The Gunners brushed aside the Bees in a London derby on Saturday to close on top four place with two games in hand
  • Second-half goals from Emile-Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka were enough to see off Brentford at the Emirates

Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka were on target for Arsenal as they sealed a hard-fought win over Brentford at the Emirates.

The young duo, who graduated from Arsenal academy, have been key for the Gunners this season as they fight for a top-four finish.

They were the match winners once again for the hosts who sealed a 2-1 victory against the Bees.

Arsenal were the dominant team throughout the 90 minutes as the visitors offered very little going forward.

But Smith Rowe opened the scoring early in the second half before Saka secured the three points towards the end.

Brentford got a consolation goal at the end through Christian Noergaard but it wasn't enough to steal a point.

Fight For Top Four

The victory takes the Gunners to within one point of fourth place Manchester United.

And Mikel Arteta's side still have two games in hand on the Red Devils and three on fifth place West Ham.

Arsenal Target Lautaro Martinez

Arsenal could move for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in the summer, according to the latest transfer reports.

After the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Gunners are desperate to sign a forward soon to replace the Gabon international, who joined Barcelona in January.

The North London club is definitely in need of a long-term striker, especially because their current options Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both have their current deals expiring on July 1.
