  • Wolves are set to lock horns with Arsenal at Molineux in what promises to be a thrilling Premier League encounter
  • Arsenal will be out in search of their first win of the new year as Wolves seek to build on their new-found momentum
  • According to Owen, the Gunners have no chance against Bruno Lage's men and contends the visitors will leave Molineux empty-handed

Premier League icon Michael Owen has made his prediction for the Wolves vs Arsenal cracker.

The two teams are scheduled to face off at Molineux on Thursday night, February 10, in a match the Gunners will be desperate to win in their push to finish in the top four.

The match comes at a time Arsenal are enduring a difficult run of form, with Mikel Arteta's charges yet to win a single match since the start of the new year.

Michael Owen's prediction

And Owen contends the north Londoners are in for an even difficult trip to Molineux as they prepare to come up against an improved Wolves side who have been on an upward trajectory under the tutelage of Bruno Lage.

Despite a difficult start to the season, Lage has managed to steady Wolves' ship, recording an impressive four wins in five of their last matches.

The side has previously managed a double over Arsenal and Owen believes they have everything it takes to upset Arteta and Co.

"Wolves have gone from strength to strength under Bruno Lage and a win here, would really give them some hopes of even sneaking into the top four. They are so strong defensively and it means that they are always in with a chance," Owen told BetVictor.
"I fancy Wolves to win here and keep yet another clean sheet. It won’t be high-scoring, but they’ll edge it 1-0," the former Man United and Liverpool striker added.

Lacazette named Arsenal captain

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has appointed Alexander Lacazette as the club's new captain for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

The Gunners have been without a substantive skipper since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was stripped of the role following "a disciplinary breach."

And with the Gabonese striker already past tense at the Emirates following his January switch to Barcelona, Arteta has resolved to fill the role with Lacazette.
