Wijnaldum ended his five-year stay at Liverpool last summer, sealing a sensational move to Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the Dutchman has had a difficult start to life at Parc des Princes and has been limited to just 11 league starts for the French giants.

Sky Sports reports the 31-year-old is mindful of his form in France and he is now keen to return to England to rediscover his spark.

According to the publication, Wijnaldum favours a move to Arsenal, a club he has reportedly admired growing up.

The Gunners are in desperate need of a central midfielder, with Mikel Arteta understood to be keen to reinforce his midfield.

Metro UK claims PSG are interested in signing Tottenham flop Tanguy Ndombele before the January window shuts and that could unlock Wijnaldum’s availability.

While the French giants have maintained that Wijnaldum is not for sale, completing Ndombele's transfer would add further options in a packed midfield.

Rashford sends Martial special message

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Marcus Rashford has sent Anthony Martial a message of goodwill after the Frenchman completed a stunning loan switch to Sevilla.

It was confirmed on Tuesday evening, January 25, that Martial had sealed a move to the La Liga side where he will spend the rest of the 2021-22 campaign.

Martial completed his medical in Andalusia after Manchester United and Sevilla agreed terms for his loan deal.

The Frenchman opted to depart Old Trafford following a difficult spell this term that saw him drop in the pecking order.
