Togolese football legend, Emmanuel Adebayor is backing Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng to bounce back despite his broken relationship with fans of the club.

Aubamayeng was stripped off the Arsenal captaincy in December over breach of disciplinary code, and has since not played for the club.

Adebayor, who played for Arsenal between 2006 to 2009, revealed fans of Arsenal do not forgive regardless of your contribution to the team.

The former Togo captain faced similar situation during his time with the Gunners, forcing him to leave the London side and join their rivals Manchester City. He later made things worse, when he signed for North London side Tottenham Hotspurs.

"Since the first time he had a problem with Arsenal, I knew he was definitely going to go through a lot because that is Arsenal for you. You can do whatever you want to do, they never learn, they never know how to forgive, so I knew he will go through a lot," he told SkySports.

"But you know he is a good player, a strong player and a fantastic player, I wish him all the best.

Adebayor asked if he thinks there is a way back for the Gabonese, he responded no.

"In Arsenal, no, this is what I know because it actually happened to me also," he said.

Aubamayeng returned to Arsenal last week after failing to make an appearance for Gabon at the Africa Cup of Nations due to COVID-19 complications.

Earlier, SportsBrief.com reported that, Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang insists he is “just fine” after he was forced to fly back to London without making an appearance for Gabon in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Aubameyang was sent back to Arsenal from international duty after being found to have cardiac lesions".

Despite flying to Cameroon early, the 32-year old ended up missing the win over Comoros as well as the draw against Ghana with the heart issue.
