Bongani Ndulula Details Instances of Witchcraft He Experienced While Playing Professional Football for AmaZulu

Bongani Ndulula has opened up about his personal experiences with witchcraft in football.

The striker, who played for Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu FC, recently revealed that witchcraft was very real in professional football, especially when it came to competition for places among teammates.

Ndulula claimed that the many injuries he had, which kept him on the sidelines for a chunk of his career, were mostly caused by witchcraft, The Citizen reported,

“It is tough in football. They bewitch you so much that you end up looking like you can’t play football. You get bewitched by the one sitting next to you. The bewitching will make you miss the ball on the line. You end up asking yourself how it happened,” said Ndulula.

He further detailed how once, while at AmaZulu, he had constant pain whenever he wore his soccer boots. Ndulula added that he had to use a sponge inside his soccer togs just to alleviate the pain.

Ndulula has not played competitive football since a short stint at Chippa United in 2016. He has made numerous attempts to find a new team over the years but has been unsuccessful in doing so.

He also made nine appearances for Bafana Bafana, scoring twice for the national team, TransferMarkt confirmed.

A veteran of the South African soccer scene, Bongani Ndulula is looking to make a return to the DStv Premiership.

The former Bafana striker last played in South Africa’s top-flight league when he turned out for Chippa United in 2016. He was let go by Chippa United after only six months at the club and has not featured for any sides since.

Ndulula played 99 games in South Africa’s top-flight across all competitions, and has featured for clubs such as Bloemfontein Celtic, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu.
