Abbubaker Mobara is set for an eagerly awaited reunion with Benni McCarthy as the defender joins Amazulu in the January transfer window.

Mobara played for Benni when McCarthy was in charge of Cape Town City FC in 2019.

Regarded by many as one of the best local defenders in the Premier Soccer League, Mobara has fallen down the pecking at Cape Town City with Nathan Fasika and Taariq Fielies often in the starting order ahead of him, The South African confirmed.

As iDiski reported, Mobara has already said goodbye to his teammates at Cape Town City as he prepares for his move to Usuthu.

Mobara is a talented defender whose star shone brightly at the Olympics in 2018.

Mobara's display against Brazil, especially his man-marking of superstar Neymar, had many praising the defender.

Neymar become the source of many memes, with football fans joking that he was still in Mobara's pocket. Mobara also became the source of an inspirational quote due to his performance against the Brazilian.
