Professional golfer and influencer Alexa Melton has moved to publicly correct the record regarding her split from AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic, issuing a formal clarification via Instagram Stories on Thursday, 9 April, after her earlier comments triggered a significant wave of online speculation.
In a statement shared with her 140,000 Instagram followers, the 25-year-old California native wrote: “I’ve made some comments on a private matter and it’s been taken out of context. I received false info. He is not a cheater. Any narrative beyond that is not mine. Out of respect for Christian’s and my privacy, I will not speak further regarding this matter.”
The clarification came after a comment Melton made under one of her own Instagram posts appeared, to many observers, to suggest that Pulisic had been active on the celebrity dating app Raya before their relationship had formally ended. The exchange was triggered when a fan described the reported breakup as a “generational fumble” in the comments section, and Melton’s response quickly spread across sports and entertainment social media pages.
The situation escalated further when screenshots purportedly showing a Raya profile linked to Pulisic began circulating on X, formerly Twitter. Those images intensified speculation and led to widespread debate, with numerous users interpreting the screenshots as evidence of infidelity on the part of the USMNT international.
Melton’s Thursday statement represents a clear reversal of the narrative that had taken hold online, directly addressing and dismissing the cheating claims that had dominated discussion across multiple platforms in the preceding days.
Pulisic and Melton first attracted public attention as a couple in June 2024, when the pair were photographed together at the US Women’s Open. Pulisic later confirmed that he had initially made contact with the professional golfer through social media. Over the course of 2025, Melton made regular trips to Italy to attend AC Milan matches, and the couple made a notable joint appearance at the club’s 125th-anniversary gala. She was also present for several of Pulisic’s international fixtures with the United States men’s national team.
Pulisic, 26, won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 and has established himself as one of the standout players in Serie A since his move to AC Milan. He remains a central figure for both club and country heading into a significant period that includes the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Melton, for her part, continues to compete professionally on the Epson Tour, the developmental circuit that serves as the primary pathway to the LPGA Tour. Securing her LPGA Tour card remains her stated professional objective.
No further public comment has been made by Pulisic on the matter.
