Captain of Ghana's national team, Andre Ayew, scored a sensational opening goal and his first of the season as Al Sadd defeated Al-Sailiya in the Qatari Stars League on Tuesday evening.

The 32-year-old broke the game's deadlock with a cool finish as the champions won 2-1 on the road.

In a video posted on social media, spotted by Sports Brief, the prolific scorer met a through ball from Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah before striking home for the opener.

It was Andre Ayew's first of the season after five matches as the Wolves bounce back from a slow start to the campaign.

His goal was cancelled on the stroke of half time by Al-Sailiya's Carlos Strandberg.

However, the Qatari giants restored their lead after the break through Bounedjah to secure all three points at the Education City Stadium.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars captain Andre Ayew's image has been spotted on one of the huge buildings in Qatar ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana talisman will be leading the Black Stars to another Mundial in 80 days time in the Gulf nation.

In a video posted on social media, sighted by Sports Brief, Ayew's photo in a Black Stars jersey was displayed on a tall building as the streets of Doha get decorated with the tournament drawing closer.

Mubarak Wakaso travelled to Qatar to show Black Stars captain and close pal Andre Ayew support during the Stars League opener.

The 31-year-old was in the stands at the Khalifa International stadium as Al Sadd suffered defeat to Markhiya.

In a photos posted on social media, Wakaso, in the company of a beautiful female friend looked excited as they backed Ayew in his first game of the season.
