Saudi Pro League clubs Al Nassr and Al Hilal are reportedly drawing up an €80 million transfer proposal for Barcelona winger Raphinha, according to reports from Spanish media. The two Riyadh-based clubs are said to be willing to offer the 29-year-old Brazilian international a contract that would represent roughly four times his current earnings at Camp Nou.
Despite the scale of the reported financial package, a move away from Barcelona appears far from straightforward. Raphinha is contracted to the Catalan club until 2028 and has consistently stated his intention to remain at the club, where he has described fulfilling a long-held personal ambition by playing for Barcelona.
The prospect of losing Raphinha would present a significant challenge for Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick. The Brazilian winger has become central to Flick’s system, recording 55 goals and 29 assists across the past two seasons — a contribution that underpinned Barcelona’s consecutive LaLiga title victories. Given that level of output, it is considered unlikely that Flick would sanction the forward’s departure.
Barcelona’s activity in the current transfer window adds further context to their stance on Raphinha. The club recently completed the signing of English international winger Anthony Gordon for €70 million plus variables, while also pursuing the permanent acquisition of Marcus Rashford and continuing their search for a new striker. The club’s ongoing investment in attacking options suggests they have little appetite to weaken that department further by allowing Raphinha to leave.
Saudi Arabia’s top clubs have made a pattern of targeting high-profile European footballers in recent years, with Al Nassr and Al Hilal among the most active spenders in that pursuit. The Saudi Pro League has previously secured the services of players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Karim Benzema, though several of those signings have faced scrutiny over their impact on the league’s global standing and the players’ international careers.
At present, Raphinha is unavailable for any transfer discussions as he is on international duty with the Brazil national team. Brazil are preparing for their 2026 FIFA World Cup Group C opener against Morocco, scheduled for Saturday, June 13. The tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marks Raphinha’s opportunity to represent Brazil on the sport’s biggest stage, adding another dimension to his current focus outside club football.
Whether Al Nassr or Al Hilal formally submit a bid for Raphinha in the coming weeks remains to be seen. As of now, according to reports, interest exists on the Saudi side, but no official offer has been confirmed, and Barcelona’s position — reinforced by Flick’s reliance on the player and the winger’s own stated preferences — suggests any potential deal faces considerable obstacles.
