Talented Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been named in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week.

The 22-year-old earned a place in the best eleven of the first week of games in Europe's elite competition after scoring and providing an assist in Ajax's victory over Rangers.

In the team posted on social media, Kudus is in a line-up that has Leroy Sane of Bayern Munich and Barcelona's hat-trick hero Robert Lewandowki.

Mohammed Kudus was also named Man of the Match after the 4-0 thrashing of Rangers at the Johan Cryuff Arena.

The Black Stars midfielder was making his first start of the season after cameo roles in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Kudus has now scored in back-to-back games for the Eredivisie champions.

He came close to leaving Ajax in the summer transfer window after Everton showed interest in his services.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mohammed Kudus scored a belter to mark his first-ever goal in the UEFA Champions League as Ajax outplayed Rangers at the Johan Cryuff Arena.

Kudus skillfully outwitted his marker before firing from long range as Ajax won 4-0 on Wednesday night.

In a video posted on social media, the Ghana international is seen celebrating his first goal in Europe's elite competition.

Former Crystal Palace and Everton star Yannick Bolasie has reacted to Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus' dazzling display for Ajax against Rangers in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
