AFC Leopards midfielder retires after sustaining career-ending injury

AFC Leopards have announced that midfielder Ezekiel Seda has opted to retire from professional football owing to a knee injury he picked against Bandari in March at Mbaraki Sports Club.

The central midfielder was taken off during the match against the Dockers, a game Leopards went on to lose 4-1.

He has been recuperating ever since but in a shocking turn of events, the Kakamega High School alumnus has decided to hang his boots.

“Ezekiel Seda has terminated his contract with the club. This is due to a knee injury he sustained in a KPL match vs Bandari FC in Mombasa,” Leopards announced.

Seda was on his second stint at the den, having first joined AFC Leopards in 2011 from Kakamega High School in 2011 before exiting the club for Mathare United in June 2015.

He returned to Leopards in June 2018 but his second stint was less successful.

He has since said the decision to quit the was a difficult one to make and has now opted to pursue other ventures.

"This injury has led me to consider my playing career and I have come to a conclusion that at this point I would wish to put an end to my playing career and pursue other ventures,”.he said.
“I would love to thank the AFC Leopards administration for giving me the opportunity to play for this great club for the last one year. The club has stood with me through my injury and ensured that I received adequate medical care and rehabilitation,” he added.
