Having lost their last home game 5-0 against Liverpool, Manchester United fans thought their players would redeem themselves against City, but they were disappointed.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood starting in attack for Manchester United, fans were expecting some goals from this duo, but they were unable to break City defence.

Surprisingly, Eric Bailly who was impressive in Manchester United's Champions League tie at Atalanta scored an own goal in the 7th minute to give Manchester City the lead.

Five minutes later, Mason Greenwood had the chance to restore parity for Manchester United, but he was unable to beat goalkeeper Ederson Moraes.

The home fans were thinking that Manchester United players would restore parity before the half time, but the visitors added to their pain when Bernardo Silva scored the second goal in the 45th minute.

Did Manchester United come back in the second half?

Manchester United tried their best in the second half to come back into this game, but Pep Guardiola and his wards were more determined to collect the three maximum points.

Solskjaer and his wards eventually lost 2-0 at Old Trafford and this will put the Norwegian manager under another big pressure.
