Brazilian player Luiz Henrique who was at Vandrezzer for trials dies

The untimely death of Brazilian footballer Luiz Henrique who came into to Nigeria briefly last year for trials and medicals for possible transfer to Vandrezzer FC of Nigeria has been announced.

After an unsuccessful trial at Nigerian side Vandrezzer FC, Luiz Henrique returned to Brazil to be with his family and also had plans to go for other trials in Nigeria.

According to the report on Akwa Ibom Sports news page, the Brazilian departed Akwa Ibom for Lagos on the 23rd of December 2020 onboard the Ibom Air in the company of the Acting Chief Operating Officer of the Club.

And from Lagos, he was reported to have boarded a flight to London from where he then moved to his country Brazil.

The report added that the footballer showed no sign of any sickness and his sudden death has been a great shock to his family and loved ones in Brazil.

Over the years, some Brazilian footballer have played in the Nigerian League with top-flight side Ifeanyi Ubah signing up to five of them three years ago.

Two Brazilian players were also with National League side Remo Stars for their campaign last season in the second division before they returned back to their nation.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Brazilian winger Lucas Alves exclusively revealed to Legit.ng that he came to Nigeria to win the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title with Kwara United.

Kwara United unveiled the 25-year-old Brazilian at their Secretariat inside the stadium complex in Ilorin on Monday afternoon, October 5, after Lucas Alves agreed to a one-year contract.

Lucas Alves started his football career in his country where he played for Corinthians and Pao De Acucar before moving to America.

Last year, Lucas Alves played for Seahorses Los Angeles where he was impressive before he left the side in December 2019.

He then travelled to Greece with the hopes of signing a deal, but Lucas Alves only spent one month and returned to America after being called by Chicago Fire.
