Portable: When 'ZaZoo' Crooner Showed Up As Chelsea Fan, Amid Police Arrest Over Car Debt

Controversial street-pop musician, Portable, once flaunted himself in Chelsea kits, claiming to be a staunch supporter of the Blues.

The ZaZoo crooner is currently making the headlines, this time for the wrong reasons, as he cools his feet in police custody.

Viral footage shows the singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, attempting to flee from officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

It is believed the Ika of Afrika refused to pay the balance of a car he had purchased from a dealer. Channels TV reports that the singer acquired a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon worth N27 million but paid just N13mil.

After a series of failed attempts to receive the balance, the dealer threatened, via a voice note, to involve the police, which the musician was said to have ignored.

Footage circulating online showed how Portable scaled a gate after policemen approached him with an arrest warrant. He was later handcuffed and dragged away by security operatives numbering about four as they loaded him into a vehicle.

Police spokesman in the Lagos State, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest saying:

"Portable was arrested in the Abule Egba area of Lagos on Tuesday."

Only last year, the musician confirmed he is a staunch fan of the Premier League football club, Chelsea.

He shared several photos where he donned the Blues shirts, feeling proud in utmost excitement.

The post came hours after the Stamford Bridge outfit confirmed the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica on transfer deadline day.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Portable once met Emmanuel Adebayor at the former Arsenal star's mansion.

The Nigerian Afrobeats artist entertained the former Tottenham Hotspur star and showed off his comedy skills.
