- Odion Ighalo has emerged a top transfer target for Manchester United

- The Nigerian international currently has two years left on his contracts with Shanghai Shenhua

- Ighalo, a former Watford forward, had 17 goals in 55 appearances for the Hornets before China move

Odion Ighalo, former Nigerian international, has reportedly emerged a January transfer loan target for Manchester United as the Premier League outfits are ready to lure the striker to Old Trafford at all cost.

Marcus Rashford's injury has unarguably posed a great obstruction to United's hope sealing top four spot, and the club is desperately seeking for an alternative option upfront.

The England international is set to be sidelined for more than two months due to ankle injury, forcing United to look at the way of the former Watford forward who is currently playing for Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua.

30-year-old Ighalo has two years left on his contract with the Chinese side but a mutual agreement with his club may see him depart for Old Trafford before the January window ends.

The stellar striker scored a sum of 17 goals in 55 Premier League appearances for the Hornets before sealing a move to Chinese League One in 2017.

His impressive statistics might have enticed United who have put the Nigerian forward on the list of their transfer consideration.

Ighalo has scored a massive ten goals for Chinese side in just 17 appearances since joining them.

Meanwhile, Man United are also close to signing of Sporting Lisbon star Bruno, but the deal is getting more entangled in delay after Sportings rejected Reds' £50 million offer for the attacking midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also reportedly submitted a £30m offer for Birmingham City's 16-year-old Jude Bellingham who he deemed fit a temporary replacement for injury-ridden Paul Pogba.

Legit.ng, however, reported that with seven days to the end of the ongoing January 2020 transfer window, Manchester United have reportedly made a move to sign Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.

Algeria international Islam Slimani is currently playing for French side Monaco on loan from Leicester City. Manchester United are presently battling to cope with the injury sustained by striker Marcus Rashford who could be out of action for the next four months.
