Top Asian scorers in EPL history

1. Son Heung-min (South Korea, 113 goals)

When it comes to scoring in the Premier League, Son Heung-min is king among Asian players.

He has scored a whopping 113 goals in 283 league appearances for Tottenham.

The South Korean has scored in double figures in each of his last eight Premier League seasons with Spurs, including the 2023-24 campaign, per The Mirror.

He reached the 10-goal mark for Tottenham this season after netting a late penalty in the 4-1 win over Newcastle on Matchday 16.

With his hot start, Son has a great chance of eclipsing the 23 goals he scored in the 2021-22 Premier League season.

2. Park Ji-sung (South Korea, 19 goals)

Before Son’s arrival on the big stage, it was Park Ji-sung who carried the flag for South Korea in the Premier League.

He helped the Red Devils win 11 trophies during his illustrious career, including four Premier League titles.

Park scored 19 goals in 134 league appearances for Manchester United.

He moved to Queens Park Rangers in the 2012-13 season. He failed to score during his time there.

3. Ki Sung-yueng (South Korea, 15 goals)

Ki Sung-yueng is another South Korean player that flourished in the Premier League. He played eight seasons in the English top flight, the majority of which he spent with Swansea.

He scored a total of 15 goals in the Premier League, 12 of which came as a member of Swansea. The other three goals came during his loan spell with Sunderland in the 2013-14 season.

4. Shinji Okazaki (Japan, 14 goals)

Shinji Okazaki will forever be remembered as part of the Leicester City team that made a Cinderella run to the Premier League title in the 2015-16 season.

He featured in all but two of the Foxes’ league fixtures that historic season. Five of his 14 goals in the Premier League came during that title run.

5. Kaoru Mitoma (Japan, 10 goals)

Kaoru Mitoma is the king of Japanese football at the moment. The 26-year-old has been a revelation for Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring 10 goals in the last two Premier League seasons.

He scored seven goals in the 2022-23 campaign and has added three more in the ongoing season.

It wouldn’t be long now before he overtakes Okazaki as the Japanese player with the most goals in the Premier League.

6. Lee Chung-yong (South Korea, 8 goals)

Lee Chung-young played seven seasons in the Premier League, scoring eight goals during that period.

All but one of those goals came during his first two seasons in the English top flight with the Bolton Wanderers.
